Melinda Guzman is Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of the Vanir Group of Companies. Highly regarded in her industry and a known business leader; she is a proven litigator, an effective business negotiator and work-out counsel with 30 years of experience in the construction industry. She holds specific expertise in finance, governance, employment, higher education and business. She is well- respected for her work on governance issues and is a noted speaker and trainer on the fiduciary duties of officers and directors of boards of directors.
Ms. Guzman has served as general counsel to companies at the local, state and national levels. She has extensive corporate and nonprofit governance experience and has served on numerous public, private and nonprofit boards. She serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, and has served as an independent director of public telecommunications company and private development firm. Ms. Guzman is a dedicated public servant and is a Trustee Emeritus to two California statewide, university systems; California State University (2004 - 2012) and California Community Colleges (2003 – 2004). Ms. Guzman has served on innumerable community boards and is a Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
