Ann Marie Fares is the new principal of St. Philomene School, a TK -8thgrade located in Sacramento, California. Prior to St. Philomene, she was a high school administrator for eight years. Ann Marie brings over 30 years of experience to St. Philomene. This is her first year working with the Vanir Foundation. “I am impressed by their focus, vision and commitment to education. We are honored to be a grant recipient this year as we partner to ensure that all students have the opportunity to be life-long and 21st century learners, prepared to compete in a global economy,” stated Ms. Fares.
Principal Fares credits her decision of taking on this new role in St. Philomene because “it is a diamond in Arden Arcade. It maintains a rich and unique diverse population that fosters community among its members and ensures success for all students”. She stated that the “St. Philomene’s Chromebook program is exciting as it prepares students for 21st century learning. Students engage in virtual field trips, submit assignments electronically, collaborate on projects and become responsible technological citizens”.
