Dominguez Elementary celebrates second annual Career Day
December 1, 2015
“The main purpose of career day is to give as much exposure and information about the different career options available to our students. My entire staff along with myself believe that college begins in kindergarten”, stated Dominguez Elementary School Principal, Alejandro Hernandez. Many individuals contributed their expertise to make this possible, including Vanir Ambassadors Carmen Burky and Michael Villegas.
In addition to various guest speakers the district’s maintenance and operation department provided hands on tools for exposure to electrical, carpentry and welding careers. The goal of career dayis to help students relate the courses they are taking now to their future careers. Dominguez Elementary wants to help students make the connection from school to work. This career day is an integral part of the elementary career awareness and with the help of the community, a day the school plans to host every year.
